La Flaneuse du Nile

With only seven cabins , La Flaneuse Du Nil, offers a more intimate way to sail the Nile and see the spectacular sights set along its banks. It has a slower pace as it powered by the wind and its billowing white sails. The interiors are elegantly decorated in traditional colonial style and all cabins have large windows and air-conditioning.

Steamship Sudan

The Steam Ship Sudan, an authentic steamship built at the dawn of the 20th century, brings turn-of-the-century travel to life again.

A boat inhabited by the memory of the King Fouad who received it as a gift in 1885; the memory of the Belle Époque travellers who used it; or that of Hercule Poirot who Agatha Christie had walking its decks in her writings...
A decor seeming frozen in time with its retro charm and its brass and woodwork setting.
Sailing on the Steam Ship Sudan is like being on no other cruise ship on the Nile.

Itinerary: 05 days/ 04 nights

DAY 1:Luxor - Esna - El Hegz
You leave around 8.30am to visit the temple at Karnak. The god Amun reigned supreme over the Egyptian pantheon for nigh-on 2000 years and each ruler wanted to build their own temple at Karnak to glorify the god.

Day 2: El Hegz - El Kaab - Edfu - El Serag
You sail to El Kaab, a town believed to have been founded during the Neolithic period and which is enclosed by a mud-brick wall dating from the period 747-332 BC.

Day 3: El Ramady - Djebel Silsileh - Maniha
You sail to the island of El Ramady where you visit an Egyptian village and enjoy a short walk around the island. Then you sail to Djebel Silsileh, which is protected by the god Hapy.

Day 4: Maniha - Kom Ombo - Daraw - El Koubaniya
You sail to Kom Ombo, a wonderfully romantic place built on a promontory and looking down onto the Nile. Its temple dedicated to two gods, Sobek the crocodile and Horus the hawk, is perfectly symmetrical in architecture.

Day 5: El Koubaniya - Aswan
n the morning you sail to Aswan where the Flâneuse ties up on the west bank just after passing the Aswan bridge. Excursion to the temple of Philae

When to Go

Traditionally Egypt has been seen as a winter destination, with most visitors arriving between October and April. At this time of year, Cairo and Lower Egypt (the area towards the Mediterranean) are pleasantly cool, with average maximum temperatures in the low twenties celsius.

Upper Egypt (around Aswan and Luxor) tends to be a few degrees warmer, but still very pleasant. There may be some rain in Lower Egypt, but it is light and sporadic.

The summer season from May to September is hot, especially in Upper Egypt where temperatures can hit 50C. The high temperatures are, however, alleviated by very dry air, airconditioning, far fewer visitors and lower prices, making summer a viable season for your trip.
