Boutique Nile Cruise

A cruise on Dahabiya Sonesta Dahabiya combines comfort and beauty on a remarkable journey along the River Nile. This boutique Nile Cruise combines old-world charm and sophistication with the luxury of modern amenities and technology. The Sonesta Dahabiya is built in the style of a traditional Dahabiya, a beautifully crafted Egyptian sail boat. With just 6 cabins and 2 suites, this cruise offers an intimate and exclusive atmosphere of personal service and refined hospitality. Facilities aboard the Sonesta Dahabiya include an elegant lounge and an open-air oriental style Jacuzzi.

Dahabiyya

The Sonesta Dahabiya will take you back in time to a gentler, more gracious era in a 7-night cruise experience between Luxor and Aswan. A unique experience down the Nile by traditional small sailing vessel that was commonly used during those elegant days of the monarchy (1920s - 40s) when aristocrats and sophisticated travellers loved to cruise the Nile in style. We've revived those elegant days with modern comforts and conveniences.

When to go

Traditionally Egypt has been seen as a winter destination, with most visitors arriving between October and April. At this time of year, Cairo and Lower Egypt (the area towards the Mediterranean) are pleasantly cool, with average maximum temperatures in the low twenties celsius.

Upper Egypt (around Aswan and Luxor) tends to be a few degrees warmer, but still very pleasant. There may be some rain in Lower Egypt, but it is light and sporadic.

The summer season from May to September is hot, especially in Upper Egypt where temperatures can hit 50C. The high temperatures are, however, alleviated by very dry air, airconditioning, far fewer visitors and lower prices, making summer a viable season for your trip.
