Explore the most famous Provence, and combine both the Alpilles and the Luberon mountain ranges, passing scenes painted by Van Gogh as well as golden hilltop villages. You will follow Van Gogh’s steps into the Alpilles landscapes of olive groves to the spectacular village of Les Baux.
You then will explore the Luberon Mountains: its tight gorges and forest paths that lead you from one magnificent perched medieval village to the next. The hills are dotted with old stone farmhouses and centuries-old stone huts, the fields blanketed in wildflowers and aromatic herbs, orchards and vines.
Our itineraries are more often than not waymarked and on well-defined paths, tracks, and sometimes backcountry roads. The trails can be rocky; good boots with ankle support are highly recommended. You will be in a zone where water is scarce; you will have to bring enough water with you each day as there is little if not areas to fill up during the walk.
